I feel very proud that I could contribute my mite, however small it may be, for Indian wildlife. I present Indian wildlife through my 'eyes' before all you nature lovers. Your remarks are highly valued as, they will encourage me to deliver even better.... Baiju
City based photo-artist Vinod
Patil alias Baiju bagged the prestigious Sanctuary RBS Wildlife Award 2009 in
the individual category. Baiju
received the award at a programme held in Mumbai. He had sent five pictures for
the contest out of which three were selected. His picture of egrets resting on
the trees in the night was critically appreciated. "The picture is special
because it was taken at night near a waterbody in Aurangabad district. I used
the low-shutter speed technique to capture the birds sleeping," said Baiju. Other pictures that
brought him fame include wolves in the wilderness (taken in Nanaj in Solapur
district) and the tigress Badimaa' plying with her cubs in the dense forests of
Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
Baiju has been in the field of photography for the last 11 years and has organised photo exhibitions of birds and animal shot by him travelling to different parts of the country. He is a recipient of a number of state, national and international awards.
Wildlife photography is my hobby. I am in wildlife photography since 10-12 years for my
pleasure and i have visited almost all national parks in India. The variety,
beauty, grandeur and of course the 'action' in national parks and forests have
given me some of the most beautiful and cherishing moments of my life. It gives
me immense pleasure to be in a jungle. I always try my level best to improve
upon myself. My aim is to click at the 'best and unique' though, I never did it
for any kind of competition. Being a painter, it helps me a lot when it comes
to the selection of color combination, background and light effects. Wildlife Photography is a very tough and sometimes even risky job. I become a part of the
jungle whenever i am there. I enjoy wildlife photography so much that, it does
not matter even if i have to climb a tree, walk in muddy waters and bushes or
wait for hours together in adverse situations of cold or rain for a good shot.
